That leaves open the possibility that some uses of "Jacob" are O.K. If a cop pulls him over and asks for his license, I'm sure Stick wouldn't pretend not to hear if the cop addressed him as "Jacob." In some context like an official list of names where it would be extremely annoying to have to deal with someone who didn't have a last name, I would guess that Stick would prefer "Jacob Rice" to "Stick Rice." But he can speak for himself.
