41 to play

Position 1 3a2a is perfect for an early double. But the present position is not yet good enough, I think. In spite of Blue´s first home board point White would have no difficulty in reentering his checker in case of getting hit. The two characteristics (the deep home board point and the prospect of hitting the checker on the 20) are not sufficient for a double action IMHO. No Double/Take

Position 2 Hitting the checker with the 4 is obvious. But how can Blue use the 1 in a reasonable manner? I think, after the hit with the 4 Blue really has an overwhelming impetus which is even more important at this score (3a2a) and cube position. The best way of using this initiative is hitting the second checker by 6/5*. If Blue refrained from hitting the second checker and played 24/23, White could easily have a very quick recovery. White owns the better home board and has a good chance of sending back Blue´s checker on the 4. I prefer b/21*, 6/5*
