Good rollout comparison, Bob. Back when I started rolling out backgame cubes I compared 3 ply/XGR vs. 4-ply/XGR+ vs. XGR+/XGR+ and concluded that both 3-ply and 4-ply are much weaker compared to XGR+ moves. As far as search interval concerned, XGR+/XGR+ large was pretty close to XGR+/XGR+ huge, while XGR+/XGR+ regular search interval was quite a bit worse. So, I settled on XGR+/XGR+ large as best overall compromise. I never tried XGR++, but your comparison shows it's not really stronger than XGR+, so XGR+/XGR+ is thus the best practical setting at this point.
