That seems reasonable, too. I think the goal is to inch into a redouble, but often you will get lucky while inching and develop gammon chances. I think leaving the 9 slotted is better for inching into a redouble and for developing gammon chances. It plays so much better against rolls like 4-3, 5-2, and 6-1. And, even if the 5-4 joker comes, all is not lost. You are far from dead, owning the cube.
