Nack asks whether JOH's problem or the problem below seems harder. According to the Nactation tutorial, the correct play below is 6/4(2) 3/1*(2).

Does that make it easier? I'm not sure. In the position below, which I posted to rec.games.backgammon not long ago in a series on switching points, I played 6/4(2) 3/1*(2) OTB. According to the rollout, that was a whopper. Prior to studying the position below, I would have judged 42P-53P-64S-22 to be easier than JOH's position. But now, 42P-53P-64S-22 confuses me. A little learning is a dangerous thing.
