I'll give it a try..... thanks for posting this

22 shots hit a blot, 23 shots if we make our 5 pt. 6 of those shots hit one of our blots and covers whites blot on his 2 pt. Then we find ourselves trying to get on against a 5 pt board, with our second blot at considerable risk, and lots of gammon chances for white if we fan a few times.

17/9 16/8 reduces our exposure to 4 shots, none of which cover white's blot on his 2 point, and gives us two more builders for containment purposes, and lots of opportunities to make our 4 or 5 pt next turn.
