This is tricky because of the likely upcoming cube which should be protected but also made strong enough.

8/4 8/4 16/8 looks good enough to give us a good cube unless he gets a 7 or a 4-5 or 4-4. His hits give us some devastating return hits and if we miss he must usually still escape a broken 5 prime.

17/9 16/8 is a bit safer but I am not sure it gives a good cube. The race is close and too easy for him to hop out.
