I always wondered why anyone would use 4-ply setting for cube decisions. According to this table

XGR plays a hair better than 4-ply when it comes to cube decisions, while being noticeably faster. So, it looks like if you want a setting stronger than 3-ply/XGR, then 4-ply/XGR+ is the one to use.

Is using 4-ply cube simply a habit inherited from XG1? According to the same table, 4-ply cube beats XGR cube handily in XG1, but it's not the case with XG2.
