I like the hit with 4/3*. While it might look scary, it is easier to avoid being hit - even on a double shot - than to get and successfully hit a shot of our own. I would prefer the action happen now rather than later after they have remade a 5-point board.

While I think the two plays are close, the cube position should tip the scales in favor of the bold play. Playing quietly allows them to creep up on a recube in many more variations.
