I disagree with your conclusion.
I think it is very possible for a 14-year old to learn to play BG with an average PR of 4.
BG doesn't require any skills which are impossible to learn for a smart kid.
It only takes motivation to practice. The smarter the kid, the less practice should be required.
I'm guessing the main reason why we haven't seen any prodidy so far is the fact that BG is played by old people (compared to teenagers). Your average BG tournament or club just isn't very inviting to most kids. If many kids were playing I'm sure we'd also have some kids playing a 4.
