I was undecided between 24/22(2) 7/5(2) and 24/22(2) 13/11(2), and unhappy with both choices. When I saw Garyo's post I thought he might be right, because splitting gives two escaping numbers and 6/4 increases the tactical threats against the back checker, but I never thought his play might be that much better.

BTW I also liked your 22 moves in pairs rule for the early game, although it is wrong here.
