If it's just money....

I have to be honest. I agree in principle with the idea that if money solves it, then it should just be done. However, with the registration fees and the entry fees that MC has, surely the money to add streaming is already there? If they cannot add streaming with what they already have, then they are really just ripping off the players and the people that want to watch.
Quite frankly E150 per person is enough isnt it - thats the registration fee? Also if streaming needs an extra E1000 to do it properly, then thats only another E5 per player. Surely that can be found. They are charging E115 for the Gala Dinner. If someone is going to try and convince me that they 'cant afford it', then that someone is going be called a liar.
If money is the reason the streaming is crappy, then shame on the world championships. If its people that are needed to set it up, then an extra paid person should be hired. If thats the problem, again, shame on the world championships.
If MC wants to be recognized as the premier world backgammon event, then they should damn well be a premier event. Anything else is just laziness. It is the organizers responsibility to make this tournament the spectacle that it should be. Dont get me wrong, I know what it takes to run a regular ABT event, so I can guess at the efforts required to run MC, however, I stand by my statement. If you are going to have a premier world event, then damn well make it that. That means all the details are taken care of. Do I care if they convince Falafel to commentate if that isnt available to watch? No. Do I care about early round matches being streamed if they arent advertised? No. There are so many little things.
