ELO Ratings for various levels

If you have recorded your matches using XG, then you may want to look at your performance rating (PR) rather than your Elo rating to estimate what bracket you belong in. The following are my impressions; I'm sure others will chime in if they disagree.
XG calls you "World Class" if you're under 5.0 and "Expert" if you're under 7.5. Those terms are somewhat meaningless but I'd say that if you're averaging under 7.5 then you can play in the Open and not feel totally outclassed (though most Open players will probably average under 6.5). If you're averaging under 5.0 then you should definitely be playing in the Open and will probably be somewhat unwelcome in any other bracket.
Giants typically average under 4.0.
As for the Novice bracket—if you even know what your PR is then you probably don't belong in the Novice section. :-)
