Prime-versus-Prime, challenge #1

The first thing I noticed about this position is that it is indeed prime versus prime. After blues play a quick count determines that blue has the better timing and hence the better chance for a win. That being the case I played to the eight with the opportunity to create a better prime. The chance of being hit on the eight point, is just 22%. The kind of odds I like. So what about the cube? My limited intelligence tells me that I don't care where it is or what it is, my play will remain the same. In that in this position the cube is not being offered or accepted I do wonder if its position has any bearing on the best play.
