I think a 2 day event can do it, but it requires a complete 2 days - i.e. finals on a sunday night. I think this will be a hard sell. It will also be extremely detrimental to side event participation - although perhaps not as big as I imagine.

Also, there are a number of players who have a distinct preference for straight elimination formats.

Personally, I'd like to try it, but it requires some serious figuring!
