The reason I said that is because I remembered a similar position from Lamford's improve your bg when he analyzes 2-away, 2-away. He claims after the opening sequence 2/1 split, 5/2, that the first player should not double. I understood the logic to be that the first player should hold off on doubling because he can get to a TG sequence next roll (i.e. 5/5, fail). Maybe Lamford is wrong or I misinterpreted..not sure.
