In Response To: Suggested Idea for Performance Grading (Bob Koca)

One problem with VRR is that the luck estimates that are its foundation, are calculated by an imperfect bot. Leaving your play out of it for this example: What if it thinks, on whatever ply it calculates the luck*, that your 66 stay-out on a one point board was no big deal, but then recalculates the added gammons you lose because of it to be 2 or 3 percent higher than it originally thought? I'm assuming it still values all the other rolls about the same. The current bot doesn't adjust for that. It could be taught to, but it doesn't do it now.

Another problem with VRR is that if you think "PR 4 club" is hard to explain to a non-initiate, try explaining "Provisional VRR PR Class". Oik!

___________________ *Is it 3ply on World Class? 4ply? I know it's no higher, because it doesn't adjust it when you go to higher ply.
