Roll Vs Roll: Match Play

Having done the calculation for that example 3roll v 2roll position, I should expand on a couple of points I didn't address in my first reply. Firstly, when there are more rolls involved, I said it is too cumbersome to work out the maths OTB (for me anyway!), so the way to get the relevant Roll v Roll cubeless GWC is simpy to learn them by wrote (from a bot) as much as possible. They are **well** worth learning. The more of these Roll v Roll reference equities you know, the better of course, but just a few of the most common ones will go a long way, and will save the time so that you only have to do the Risk:Reward calculation to find the Doubling Point. That makes it much more do-able under clock pressure etc., which can degrade your mental arithmetic as much as smoking a joint! (I'm told).
Secondly, trying to factor in the amount of overage into a heuristic (rule of thumb) is probably barking up the wrong tree, because overage as a parameter is most likely too non-linear in relation to the end result to be of much use in creating a heuristic. You might be lucky and find such an overage based heuristic, but my instincts tell me it's not worth exploring further.
