It really is a last roll situation for the cube. The 16.67% that you find yourself in often would not be a cube and thus you will cube now or never. Percentage at which you should cube if now or never is the definition of the lower windowsill.

Also suppose the matchscore was more lopsided so the 16.67% would be a cube in that 3 vs 2 on ace situation. If you will be cubing after a bad sequence for you probably should be doubling now also.
