I feel 24/23 is better, because it allows us to make an advanced anchor with a move of 2 pips. We have several rolls on our own side of the board which work well with 3 pips. So by moving up, we make more rolls of the dice play well for us, assuming neither of our back checkers are hit on this exchange. Others might see some advantages which I may have overlooked.
