Rolling Rules

Now we're splitting hairs. The rules don't even say anything about using force. Tossing dice is not the same as tossing a baseball; it is more akin to tossing a coin. While "tossing" does imply a quick, light motion, how can you possibly rule that one motion is ok while another is not? The key, I think, is whether the dice bounce and roll freely. If they do, then you have satisfied the third requirement of the rule.

But there is another aspect. The game is more enjoyable if everyone is comfortable that the dice are being rolled randomly. Players should be careful not be too casual about their dice tosses. Good sportsmanship suggests that you should make it as clear as possible with each toss that you are producing a random roll.
