62S-62D-51Z-53P-63 Position ID: jNfIATDg88gBMA Match ID: cAkPAAAAAAAE As I was cleaning up some of the Nactation errors in my database today, I noticed this one.
Due to the “wrinkle” in the 6pt Point convention, blots and spares are preferred when they are farther back in the outer board. Therefore, a blot moved to the 10pt ranks higher—Nactation-wise—than a spare moved to the 8pt.
Moves that enter from the bar can be optionally waived, so that entering plays can be nactated by ignoring the entering movements, and nactating what is left. That means that the third-roll play, bar/24 13/8, can be placed in the D (Down) family. So can bar/20 11/10. In both cases, the non-entering checker is played down to a destination in the outer board.
D = bar/20, 11/10
d = bar/24, 13/8Paul’s complete sequence (using lower case d instead of upper) is:
62S-62D-51d-53P-63
Instead of using lower case d, the same play, bar/20 13/8, can be nactated in the Z (reverse split) family:
