I have a theory that giving yourself good 6's and your opponent bad 6's is very important. With a 6 you have to move into another quadrant.

In the second position making the 7 point gives your opponent bad 6's. In the third position with your opponent on her 23 point her 6's are already blocked so making the 7 point is less important. Note the after making the 5 point her 54 and 52 to hit are duplicated with making inner board points.
