OT - Pennies here in Canada

I love pennies (though I still wish they were smaller here in UK), I hate rounding: does that make me uncivilised?
Not at all. It's just that inflation has made pennies here in the USA nearly worthless. I have heard that if a worker bends over to pick up a penny on the street, it costs more money in lost time than the penny is worth.
The $1 bill in the USA is the only paper money we have that is not loaded with anti-counterfeiting devices. That is because the cost of manufacturing a bill with anti-counterfeiting technologies built in costs way more than a $1.
It is time to drop the $1 bill and switch to dollar coins! Compared to the purchasing power of yesteryear, our $1 bills are only worth a quarter anyway.
