Using cups insures at least some amount of physical exercise at a tournament, but you should use whatever you personally enjoy using -- unless you think your opponent cheats, in which case a baffle box would be far better. If you're in attendance at a tournament where Phil is playing, I'm sure he would be happy to let you try one out. They are nicely made.

BTW, next time you lose your dice, if you have an iPhone you can tell Siri "Roll dice". Just don't say "Again" for your remaining rolls unless you roll 66 in a race.
