There are practical aspects to consider here too.

I chose to split here - it is my philosophy that I split when ahead and slot when behind and even. I stick with that, and so I make tiny errors sometimes - I can live with that. I am also known for being practical when it comes to trying to race off a gammon (see all previous OLM's) - again, small errors - I will live with those too.

I tend to make up for these errors in other positions where I can hold my own reasonably well.
