I was just pointing out that it seems unnecessarily complex, for something that was intended to help simplify.

Actually, you can learn the basics of Nactation just by reading the first 10 or 12 pages of the Nactation guide. Even that is easier than is sounds. Each page has two board diagrams, so there is not much reading involved.
Nactation can get tricky when doublets are involved. That's because as many as four checkers can be moved in a multitude of ways. For Nactation novices, that's the time to choose a letter you think is close, and put a dot after it to indicate "assumptive Nactation," i.e., you intend the obvious best play.
