I like many of your (and others') ideas to add skill to the game. This one I do not like, and the reason is that in BG, people pay a relatively high entry fee in anticipation to compete for the pool. It does not seem fair to give someone a handicap in this, based on a perceived skill difference.

It'd a different thing if the entry fees were much lower.

I'd rather play a BG tourney based on PR then a tourney with seeds.
