It sounds like you're implying because of the score, 7a 4a, the trailer has a lower take point. This is a common fallacy. Being behind on the scoreboard doesn't automatically translate to a lower take point. The live cube take point for the 7a player is actually around 24%, higher than normal.

Another way to think about this is more commonsensical. We want to put our opponents at uncomfortable scores. 3a many away is one such score. We know the 3a player's cube usage is very limited at this score so it makes sense we would perhaps be quicker to drop and stick him at 3 away than to take and get him to 2a where his take points are typically deep.

As for the position itself going through the numbers is the first thing I'd do divvying up the rolls into different categories. I see no numbers that leave a blot immediately. This is huge. There are some uncomfortable numbers that make it more likely to leave a shot down the line [52 42 51 41] but immediately, nada. Everything else makes either the five point or another point(s).

This could actually be a pointless double. Practically OtB I'd wait and see what next roll brought working on the assumption a lot of people will still take when they shouldn't thinking the take point is lower than it really is.
