I think going through positions this way will earn you a lot of understanding very quickly. It is also a good idea to looks at different types of races: pips vs pips, rolls vs pips, pips vs rolls, rolls vs rolls, and various hybrids (rolls with straggler(s) positions vs pure pips, pure rolls, and themselves). This will give you a way to adjust the cube efficiency OTB.
