My understanding is that everything is for sale in a capitalistic system.
That's not true, and the main reason is that the utility of an additional Dollar decreases with every Dollar you own. There is a maximum utility money can do for you. E.g., I would not sell my arms for whatever price. Probably I even wouldn't sell a thumb, but there are certainly people who would for 10 million. So, the utility of thumbs and Dollars is not equal for everybody. But for everybody there is an individual upper limit of utility money can have.
Though, in this case I think you are right. Gridgammon will probably be for sale for 1 million.
