Although I'm sure your post was meant to be sarcastic, I did wish to point out to those observing that I am just the messenger. If one looks at the followup post from the Gridgammon support team a keen eye would have noticed that GG was now using using "several" instead of "few". I personally don't know what "not too many days" would equate to.
Based on available information; the state of GG over the past few years; the fact it was a seemingly last minute (unexpected issue); the fact that it is close to Christmas holidays for most; and some other insights gleaned about the operation of GG in general, I'd say people should be patient.
Not all upgrades especially with legacy software and hardware are very smooth especially if there wasn't a contingency plan in place. Sometimes in volunteer organizations these types of things are not made a priority until it is too late. We don't pay anything to GG. People volunteer their time, effort and money to keep GG going. I think we should be glad that GG intends to be back online sometime in the near future.
I have had emails and FB messages from people surprised that I care about GG at all. Some have the impression that I am anti-GG because I happen to be vocal about another site. I render a lot of assistance to those on GG with technical problems etc. It doesn't matter to me what site it is. If it is Backgammon related I am willing to lend a hand.
