At this stage, I prefer the 21pt anchor over an anchor on the bar point. A large part of that is so that I can make a point on my side of the board with two of these dice.

This may be one of the many times when 33 is best played by foregoing the 5pt and making the 3pt. If there were either two or four checkers on the 8pt, then I would make the 5pt.

Another factor is that White has partially escaped a checker. Hitting, rather than priming, is the plan for Blue. In this position, Blue can achieve a more balanced attacking structure by playing off the 6pt.
