Crunched backgame

The issue here is problem numbers (see Kit woolsey's article http://www.bkgm.com/articles/GOL/Nov02/safe.htm ).

Against a 23 backgame your problem numbers are 4's when you have your highest checkers on your 6 point. Therefore you need to reinforce your 4 point to give yourself playable 4's as long as you can enter if hit over 50% of the time i.e. I would play 9/4 5/4 even if my opponent had a 4 point board here (move the 2 checkers from her 1 point)
