I do want to win that way

In answer to your comment, if my opponent's time runs out I do want to win the game, and have no problem winning that way. I have won that way, and I have lost that way. If you don't win when the clock runs out, there is no reason to have a clock.
If I lose when I run out of time, why shouldn't he? This is fair.
Now, if he runs out because he forgets to hit his clock, and I notice this and don't say anything about it, yes, I would hate to win that way. And that is why I won't let that happen.
Without naming names, I was playing an older gentleman (yes, there are some who are older than me) who was taking a very long time to make some plays when his clock was running low, and I told him to be careful and alerted him that he was running low on time. I lost that match and might have won it on time if I had not warned him. I have enough trouble sleeping at night already to add this to my list.
