The Muddy Road

Two monks were traveling back to their monastery after a heavy rain. They came to a muddy road where a beautiful young girl was standing in a silk kimono, unable to cross. The older monk picked her up without hesitation and carried her across. The younger monk was furious at this and didn't speak but fumed the rest of the way to the monastery.

Finally, unable to contain his anger any longer, he turned to the elder monk and said, "Why did you pick that woman up? You know we are strictly forbidden from touching females!!"

The elder monk replied, "I left that girl back there. Are you still carrying her?"
