Ace to Play in an Ending Position

I feel like a 3pt gap is a hurtful thing in a bearoff race, especially when rolling a 3 (the missing number) doesnt fill it, so lets call it a 'bad gap'. Whenever you have a bad gap, you should seek to fill it, especially with an ace. I think that a 2 would be worthwhile to slot with too (i.e. if you rolled a 62 from a position 1 pip further back).

I dont know about 3s (i.e. 63,53,43 etc) - that may be a tipping point - the jump in extra shots would be significant there. Although, I could learn something here.

I think it makes some kind of sense. If you have a bad gap, fill it with aces and deuces. Certainly it aligns with bear-in technique, and spreading checkers as and when you need to.

I suppose I should think about a way of applying this to the gap in question, as well as the spare die's number. Put it on my list for 2017.
