I will not do the pari-mutuel. There were virtually no positive responses or people saying they liked the idea and would like to participate and nothing but negative comments about the idea and me personally. Life's too short. I was trying to do something I thought would add an element of fun and excitement to the tournament, and so did some others involved in the event, but it certainly isn't worth my time and trouble given the response to the idea.
Lesson learned. This is also why I don't run tournaments any more. People who work very, very hard to provide a venue for us to play and have fun and compete get very little besides criticisms and personal attacks and have to deal with assholes who do everything they can to find fault and get attacked for taking a rake and trying to make a little money, or break even if they are lucky.
As for one Jerk or two jerks who attacks me personally, and then when I respond and point that out, and they then say I am the one doing the attacking, I have decided to remember an old adage that I had forgotten:
"Never argue with a fool....people might not know the difference."
The same thing holds true for people who have a personal bone to pick or simply a mean streak and a desire to be nasty to people whenever they get the chance.
