The safe play is 11/2. Yeech. Can burying a fourth checker while stripping all the outfield points possibly be right? Well, after the safe play white will have the choice of crunching or moving a blot to the outfield where it can be attacked.

Actually, few rolls force this just yet - whie has few rolls that play awkwardly, while after 11/2 nearly all of blue's rolls play poorly.

I'm not entirely sure how best to play this, but I'll go with making the five point. It may not be best but it's the smart way to bet.
