Why so bad?

I was reviewing some of my grid matches and came across this position. I cleared the 10 point, playing it safe. Hitting only leaves 5 shots, but I didn't want to hit because my opponents board is strong, and I felt his hit checker could cause me trouble in the future. Sure winning a gammon would be nice, getting to Crawford while avoiding 2-away, and if he fails to hit, the position will be easier to clear.
I can see why hitting may be the better play, my question is, why is clearing the 10 point a 48% blunder? This seems extraordinarily high to me. Am I missing something here?
