When I first starting using snowy I had not heard of global warming. I must been playing plenty of noncontact games as I became fascinated with snowy's play when bearing in and when bearing off. I could not make rhyme nor reason of it. That being the case I had to devise my own method.
Just get them into your home board on the 654 points and elsewhere when necessary. If you can get two in do it. If you can only get one in do it. Be kind to your four point. There is a similarity between bearing in and bearing off, when it comes to dealing with stragglers. Never place one on top of another, always keep the minimum space between them, avoid touching checkers. Never play for a double roll unless you reckon the next roll will be your last, I think there is an exception to this rule. Use common sense.
I downloaded a dice roller. Set the outer boards up the same in various positions and went for it. I played 60 games like this the theory being that it should be a draw every time. Sadly it wasn't I lost one. I never fret about my skills when playing noncontact games. I see plenty of players who are not aware of these simple ROT. Perhaps I had better give XG a challenge.
