I'll take the bait.

I like to split the aces (51, 41, 21) after my opponent opens by making an inside point (5pt, 4pt, 3pt). One nice thing it does is put a checker in direct range of the opponent's stripped 8pt. It also makes it easier to make an advanced anchor or run, things that are appropriate when you are losing the priming battle.

I remember the rollout for 53P-21 posted here show S (Split) and $ (Slot) are very close.
