BMAB TOURNAMENT REPORT: Backgammon Masters Series (JP) Pilot Tournament, January 2015, Tokyo
Venue: Akasaka Queen's Room, Tokyo, Japan
Date: 12 January 2015
I am very pleased to announce that the second BMS Tournament was organised and directed successfully by Grandmaster Mochy with completed match recordings for the six participants (5 rounds of 7 point matches over 1 day). This one day tournament, where each player gained 35 experience points, is equivalent of a half-BMAB Tournament, where each players results will be combined with those of the next tournament or individual application set played. The Japanese Backgammon League (JBL) Tournament Rules and clock settings were applied. (2.5 min per game point bank plus 12 sec delay) Three live transcribers, including Grandmaster Yoshiyuki Nakamura, generated the match files in real time.
The tournament was won by Grandmaster Kiyokazu Nishikawa winning 4 from 5 matches played. Mochy achieved the lowest PR of 2.2, another astonishing performance!
