Zero times Infinity equals?

I think the most important part about Stick's post was that he cannot control someone else talking to him, and that headphones allow him to not worry about it without offending.
I also think that it is petty to ask someone not to listen to headphones, or to wear them. How does that impact you in any way? If you are playing at home on the computer, your opponent could be dancing naked with a friendly sheep, and you wouldnt know. Your opponent could be building a bomb at the same time, and you wouldnt know. These would not change how you play.
Live backgammon is just that. Instead of staring at a computer screen, you are sitting across the table from someone.
Here's perhaps a more legitimate example - would you be willing to ask Neil Kaz to not wear that ridiculous shirt, because the bright colors offend you? (and he does have quite an array of colorful shirts). Or, maybe something else? An oxygen tank? Are you going to ask the player to put it away, because you are offended? What about smells? You have to play an opponent who just chugged the biggest cigar in history, and stinks to hell of cigar smoke - something you hate with a passion. What are you going to say to that?
Don't be so utterly ridiculous as to request that your opponent doesn't wear headphones. You are just setting yourself up for a bad experience.
If you are concerned about cheating with headphones - then bring a Y adapter, and ask to listen also, and randomly put them on to check out what your opp is listening to. I dont know - that seems extreme. Are you also going to insist that the baffle box you are using is a legitimate baffle? Demand a randomness test?
What's next? Put this bullshit to bed, and stop complaining about people wearing headphones.
