Headphones in Backgammon?

BG tournaments are generally noisy. Even if it's just the dice shaking from all the tables it can get quite loud. Not to mention when people start talking after they've finished their matches.
I think people should be allowed to protect themselves from the noise which is always present to some degree at BG tournaments.
I don't use headphones but simple ear plugs ( http://www.shopbuy.org/image/21d79772faa8cd8f55767321d8be2060.html ) are necessity for me at most tournaments. I wonder what Robertie would think of them?
Less suspicious than headphones? Who says I don't have a tiny receiver hidden within the foam?
