XG++ estimates -.09 for non cube owning side getting first roll and estimates +.28 for cube owning side getting first roll. That gives an estimate of .185 edge due to owning cube in starting position.
Why not average those two numbers?
When the cube starts in the middle, your equity is 0.0.
When the opponent starts with the cube, your equity is AVG(–.28 + .09) = –.19/2 = –.095.
The difference (.095) is the equity you surrender by giving away the cube.
