Hmmm... Shouldn't white be holding the cube at this point? And does cube ownership change the checker play?

If I clear the midpoint, either white misses and I have a cash or white hits and I have to decide whether to accept her cube if I'm still on the bar.

OTOH, if I play safe I'm pretty much guaranteed a D/T. So I think "pay later" is fairly clear. If white owned the cube clearing the midpoint would be worth considering.

So, which pay later play? Clearing the six point should give an extra roll before being forced off the anchor vs clearing the eight. While not a given, white's board is likely to deteriorate if I can hold out for three rolls. And it should give me another roll to shake doubles.

6/1 6/2 or 6/1 5/1? I think I like the second one better. It let's me play 5s without making a crossover.

6/1 5/1.
