Hmmm. I've always thought that one of the advantages of the cube is that many uninteresting games don't have to be played out to the natural end. I play online, and with auto-roll and greedy checker bearoff I can just sit back and let the software finish the drudge work of straight races, but if i had to actually roll and move the boring no-contact races I'd be even more relieved to end the thing with a cash.

That said, when playing live against friends (a rare occurrence, but it happens) we'll often agree to play out a cash just to see how the game ends.

Three cubes would be intriguing, but if your opponent owned all three it would be very hard to take it since you would expect the other two to be forthcoming shortly. Seems to me that we'd have to totally re-adjust our takepoint calculations.
