I will waver at 100 a point. Colin made two excellent suggestions -- play equal openings ( if I get a 3-1 then he gets it the next game) and okay last roll settlements. If the game or gammon is on the line on the last roll, you settle for the fair settlement according to XG.

I really like this second rule but only if the cube is 4 or higher to limit really big swings on a single roll.

It's almost like having variance reduction so that the outcome is more likely to be representative.

It is something I will introduce into big money chouettes and private games I play in. We often talk settlements at that point anyway when the cube is up there so why not end all the negotiation and just make it a rule that ensures a fair settlement?
