XG2 - Mac and Linux

Thanks for posting about this -- it came just in time as I discovered that GNU wasn't playing well with my iMac, causing some startup issues.
Following your instructions (on my 27" iMac running Yosemite 10.10.1) I was able to install XG2 quite easily, and I spent a couple hours last night evaluating positions successfully.
Where I'm having trouble now is that, having run it successfully, and having quit out of XG/Crossover, I'm unclear on how to re-open XG for another session. I recall during the initial session, there was a step that mentioned placing a starter icon on the Desktop, which I had checked, or expected to happen, but no icon has appeared. Searching for 'XG' on my hard drive, all I'm finding is the XG2 'exe' file which I assume is for installation.
I'm totally inexperienced using emulators and don't know from a 'Bottle', so I'm lacking basic concepts. For instance, do I open Crossover and "Install" XG2 every time I want to use it -- or, having installed it, should I be able to just click on an XG app somewhere? (as I had expected).
Any pointers on getting XG up and running again? Thanks again for making this increasingly accessible to Mac users!
